To be fair, Space X is delivering services we need in far more cost effective ways than NASA could. If America is about the better idea winning out, Space X went places technologically that NASA wouldn't go and now has a highly reliable, better capable and cost effective way to deliver satellites and other payloads to space. And Amazon/Bezos developed massive cost effective computer capability we now call the Cloud and the CIA, our military and others would be crippled without it as the government didn't keep up there either. And all this will be nothing compared to what AI may do. If you didn't hear/read, the Large Language Models (LLM) that are the reservoir of knowledge that AI programs draw on have already read and internalized EVERYTHING in the world publicly available. EVERYTHING. Be scared, be very scared.
