More Immigration Losses and Outrages - Andrew Weissmann

New Washington Post reporting serves to amplify our understanding of the sheer lawlessness and cruelty of how the Administration has dealt with immigrants. The reporting reveals 3 things of note:

(1) Mr. Abrego Garcia’s case is not an anomaly- others have been extracted to a foreign prison under similar circumstances, with no due process and/or against extant court orders.

(2) The Administration is not revealing the names of those extracted and imprisoned, so families are scrambling to determine what has happened to their relatives who have been “disappeared.”

And (3) the reporting shows the enormous rush to get these human beings out of our country, with no good reason for this haste other than to deny them their basic rights to due process to challenge the law and the facts — indeed, when people have been able to make such challenges, the Trump Administration has lost!
