with the money frittered away with annual (is joe namath ever actually off of the television? my wife was called by "healthy blue this morning, just 11 months before the next open season) advertising blitzes offering a choice of "plans" with different names but all subsidiary to the same corporation. then come the management fees ..........

the pols can claim that "we never cut medicare" because the money out is the same, but it is not generally going to pay medical bills.

if you are laid off at age 55 good luck finding a job with health care, and medicare is 10 years away.
