Trump's Dangerous Rewrite Of America's Constitution Can Take All of Your Rights Away - Thom Hartmann

A constitutional convention looms as a Republican-led effort to rewrite foundational U.S. laws, pushing gun rights, abortion bans, and corporate influence.

With states' decades-old requests under scrutiny, Democrats fear a "runaway convention" that could reshape the nation's governance.

Will it happen? Tell us in the comments. - Aired on 01/03/2025.

It has been my impression that a Constitutional Convention would just vote on new amendments to the Constitution to send the States for ratification.

And Amendments proposed by Congress or convention become valid only when ratified by the legislatures of, or conventions in, three-fourths of the states (i.e., 38 of 50 states).

IOW, the proposals don't become effective until that 38th state ratifies it.

It's taken almost 50 years to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and we're still not there yet.

There aren't enough "Red States" to pass these draconian laws -- yet.

to facilitate their criminal actions, Venezuela is a blueprint for the thugs of the republican party. I don't count trump into the "masterminds" of this attack to the country, he is an "idiot who can handle a pen", the ideas do not come from him, but nonetheless, he will sign anything he deems cruel and treasonous, that is his thing, cruelty and treason.
