Barbados gained independence from the UK on November 30th, 1966. The country celebrates its independence every year at the end of November. The National Day of Barbados marking the independence of the island country from the United Kingdom is known as Barbados Independence Day. On November 30th, 2021, Barbados became a monarch-free republic.
