(253,786 posts)I just fear that some voters, unable to find the right polling place, got discouraged and went home. My only question is whether this was intentional.

(13,029 posts)Perhaps the only thing that is certain is that there are uncast votes that can't be counted. I guess the only bit of comfort I have is that Jasmine was underperforming benchmarks pretty much across the board. In Dallas county specifically, she is at about 61% against a benchmark of 70% ... so the likelihood those uncast votes would have changed the outcome is about 0.
Nevertheless, every vote cast during the court ordered extension of polling must be counted. I hope Talarico joins with Crockett and the Texas Democratic Party to petition the court and oppose the motion Paxton filed to block the lower court's extension.
It's NOT about the outcome. It's not about the candidate. It is about the right of the people to be able to easily cast our ballot and have confidence that that ballot is accurately counted.
In addition to counting every vote cast, there also needs to be an investigation. As far as I can tell, the Dallas county election site instructed people to go to any county voting center, when in fact, they had to go to their own precinct. That is WRONG. The two hour extension was an attempt to remedy, but that does not address the mismanagement.

(253,786 posts)After listening/watching so many of her videos which are always so well done and well spoken, I often wished that she was my Rep., she speaks out and stands up for the people. I'm in New York and have been stuck with Stefanik. *sigh*
