Does War on Iran Deflect Attention from Genocide in Gaza?

After President Trump’s attack on Iran over the weekend, civil society leaders are organizing to demand an end to the violence. We speak with Iranian American scholar Kaveh Ehsani, associate professor of international studies at DePaul University in Chicago, who helped organize a petition against the war signed by more than 1,000 academics in the United States, Europe and Iran. “What this is doing is immiserating further the lives of ordinary people,” says Ehsani.

1. Not really. (not that Gaza 'genocide' was really getting all that much play anyway)

( Greta's sad little efforts not withstanding .. )

On the other hand ...
Giving Iran a good kicking (whether by either U.S. or Israel) certainly is not garnering a lot of demerits , the world over.

( And all the more so, because whatever consequence might come as result ... Will of course redound upon ... You guessed it ! )

...unleash a cascade of catastrophes designed to turn Iran into a failed state."

Turn it into a compliant beggared U.S. client state no doubt. The horrible impact on the proud and independent Iranian people be damned.

This vile strategy seems to be working.

Since dawn today, at least 43 Palestinians have been slaughtered, including at least 20 starving aid seekers near the "human slaughterhouses" known as the Israeli-controlled GHF aid sites.

But you wouldn't know that unless you read Al Jazeera. Eyes are off Gaza now, and also Israel has destroyed the last vestiges of telecomminications. No internet, no prying eyes, genocide under cover of indifference and darkness.

Of course. Finishing off Gaza and West Bank is culmination of Israel’s 77 year struggle. If BiBi can pull this off, he’s golden. It’s ironic that this latest ‘deflection’ has the potential of causing the ‘gazafication’ of both Tehran and Tel Aviv.

Gaza. I am certain that Israel has full control of Iran and its proxies violently attacking it.

Which reminds me: what was the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct 7 supposed to deflect from?
