Outrage and exposure halts Trump's plans for Social Security service cuts - Rachel Maddow - MSNBC

Rachel Maddow shares video of Rep. John Larson (D-CT) channeling the outrage of his constituents at the anticipation that Donald Trump's top donor, Elon Musk, is intending to destroy Social Security in order to privatize it.

The Washington Post reported early Wednesday that Musk was planning cuts to Social Security's telephone customer service, but by the end of the day those plans had been cancelled. Between the public outcry and the exposure in the media, the pushback on Social Security cuts appears to have worked. - Aired on 03/12/2025.

I hope I’m wrong but even with more democrats waking, I think it’s too late to save the dollar as the world’s currency and the financial devastation from that is going to be the end of life as we know it

Even the rich folks should be realizing, we are all screwed… think wheelbarrows of dollars for loaves of bread 🥖

I'm grateful to see the Democrats pushing back, but it's tough with the Republicans dominating all 3 branches.

Whenever you call SS or Medicare the people answering the phones are well qualified, well trained and American. Compare that to your typical phone service from business. The people are outsourced to a foreign country and poorly trained.

We keep hearing that they're firing those "on probation," when that often means that they were recently promoted to a more responsible job!

Every day mostly in Georgia complaining about all the crap they are doing including letting them know that you working for them makes them just as bad as Trump.
