Sen. Bernie Sanders will headline the New Hampshire Young Democrats largest annual fundraising event – the Granite Slate Awards – on Dec. 13 at the Masonic Temple in Manchester.
It’s a major “get” for the Young Dems, and a major “get” for Sanders, who will have an opportunity to make his case to hundreds of the state’s most dedicated Democratic activists.
"The Granite Slate Awards is the opportunity for the Young Dems to recognize selfless and dedicated progressive leaders across the state,” said Molly Biron NHYD organizing director. “We are very excited to have Sen. Sanders as our featured speaker, who has been an assertive role model for consistency. His confidence in his career-long platforms and policy decisions makes him a great progressive leader.
Six awards will be presented at the event, honoring recipients for their service in elected posts and for their efforts in grassroots organizing and volunteering. The top award will be given to the “Young Dem of the Year,” who has yet to be announced.
