Gamecocks' Ashlyn Watkins to miss rest of season with torn ACL
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - South Carolina star forward Ashlyn Watkins will miss the rest of the 2024-25 season the school announced on Tuesday after she suffered a torn ACL in the Gamecocks win over Mississippi State on January 5th.
A statement from the school said Watkins will have surgery on the knee in the coming weeks.
Watkins ends her junior season ranked 4th in the SEC with 1.86 blocks per game. She was also 2nd on the team in rebounds at almost 6 and a half per game and averaged just over 7 points per game in 14 contests this season.
The Gamecocks return to action on Thursday when they host Texas A&M.
