Minnesota Lynx Forward Napheesa Collier Named 2024 Minnesota Star Tribune Sportsperson of the Year

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Star Tribune announced that Lynx forward Napheesa Collier has been named its 2024 Sportsperson of the Year. 2024 saw Collier win WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, lead Minnesota to the WNBA Finals and most wins in franchise history (30), earn her fourth career WNBA All-Star selection, win a gold medal with Team USA at the Paris Olympics and launch a new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, Unrivaled.

The Minnesota Star Tribune recently sat down with Collier to discuss her on-court accomplishments with both the WNBA and the national team, as well as her off-court triumphs as a businesswoman with the founding of Unrivaled and with her family as a mother to two-year-old, Mila. See the full article in print in the Sunday paper and online: HERE.

With Collier at the helm, Minnesota completed its 26th season by reaching the WNBA Finals for a seventh time, the most by any team in league history. This is the fourth time a member of the Lynx organization has been named the Star Tribune Sportsperson of the Year (Cheryl Reeve in 2017, Maya Moore in 2015, Seimone Augustus in 2011).
