Marjoe (1972) Fantastic documentary on fake evangelism

I saw this many years ago, but wanted to see it again after seeing some clips of Michael Flynn at the revival tours.

He blows the scam wide open. He's amazing.

I was 12/13 years old. I'm southern. It was eye opening. Great movie.

We need some modern evangelicals to break out like this and expose the scam.

and it was an eye opener. The friend I saw it with and I had a running "gag" whenever something good happened like a good grade on a test, etc. We were in high school.

We just sang "The Lord's been good to me tonight."

Child abuse and exploitation.

And the rubes ate it up.

he seems to have come out of it with a lot of insight and a conscience. I'm really glad he did this doc -- it was a good way for his to sever his reliance on the scam, and to redeem himself a bit for having been a part of it.
