All he had to do was find a bit part for John Astin. But nooooooo...

I'm hesitant to go see it because I really don't want to have Officer Krupke be the sounding board for Spielberg's daddy issues.

I am not a big fan of musicals and I didn't like the trailer to this movie. But now I'm interested enough to watch it when it starts streaming somewhere.

back in a generational swap of characters--not to mention playwright Tony Kushner. It is good to hear that they were faithful to the original--not, as so often is the case, trying to make their mark with a jarring new direction.

60 Minutes had an interview with Moreno last Sunday. She is really something. I hope more young Latino women (especially) learn about her as a result.

Everything in Hollywood is either part of a franchise or is a remake. Can't they find new stories to tell?

1. The structure and connotations of the story are decided. The number of rewrites can be a lot.

Writing a script is part solo and part committee.

2. Assembly of the cast and crew

3. Budget decisions

4. Actual filming during the pandemic

5. Post production ( editing, special effects, music and reshoots)

Drama and horror are easier genres than comedy or music.

A lot needs to go right. What if it rains, or a cast member is unwell?

of all of these categories, writing is the challenge if the film is really tops.
