Excellent acting, but was that ever depressing. Anyone else see it?

1. You are absolutely correct

I felt exactly the same. It certainly highlighted how deep you can get mentally, and take yourself into very, very dark places.
But yes, the performances were great.
With The Mental depression we are facing, this movie may not be for everyone.

2. Yes, I almost walked out

because it was so distressing. But I stayed. It is an intense story of misogyny and how patriarchy doesn't listen/believe women. Rose Byrne is sensational and Conan O'Brien is surprisingly strong.

3. Agreed. Just brutal. Very well done, but the subject matter was almost too intense to handle
