but a masterpiece of a hot mess music was great and I enjoyed seeing Buddy Guy, a lifelong blues favorite of mine.

I just started streaming it and ended up stopping. I'm far from a prude, but I take issue with films that use dialogue/slang that's inappropriate for the time. It takes place in the 1930s. People didn't talk openly about sex at that time, and they certainly didn't discuss oral sex. It was just ick, and had NOTHING to do with the story.

In other words, its an elevated B movie that critics have overpraised to high heaven like its on the same level of Citizen Kane or The Godfather.
