I'm volunteering to be a host here. I've never done anything like this on DU, and I hope I'll do a decent job of it.
Anyone else wanting to be a host can post to this thread as well, at least as I understand my instructions from Skinner

(146,218 posts)I would like to see the SOP you worked on put up and hope that at least one other person will volunteer to co-host with you.
The reworking of the SOP by everyone else here looked good, but I can also repost my version in a bit here.
I think I got involved in this at a bad time, though. My GF is in town, so my time online is limited right now. I'll still do what I can, though it's going to be a couple of weeks before I can put more effort in it. I just hope that won't be a problem for all...
This is the SOP after I'd talked to GliderGuider and Starboard Tack. There are only minor differences and we can all discuss those nuances:

(146,218 posts)In light of your schedule, I would suggest that we recruit a few other hosts. I think it's important that this group get off on the right foot.
I am not interested at all in hosting this group, but very much want to participate. If MADem and GilderGuider are interested, I think they would both be great choices. As to Starboard Tack, he is my husband and I am going to recuse myself from comment on his role here.

(106,886 posts)Though I had initial reservations about a specific reference to "the more free wheeling Religion Group", I've come to feel it's good to note a distinction between the two. And states the obvious. Really like the mention of inclusiveness as well.

(43,049 posts)I like this place so far and there would like to see some others out there start posting here. I've seen a lot of serious thought elsewhere on the subject that's been kinda overwhelmed by... well, you know.
(I guess that would mean I'd have to get a star again, eh?)

(And I'll get that star b ack shortly-- it's apparently not needed, but seems fitting.)

I'll probably be reading, writing, and reading DU on Monday as she takes a class from another one of the weekend's spiritual guests (oracle-card stuff.)
