Related: About this forumFor the men who just want to "talk to women"
Just fucking join somthing already, 'K? There are any number of causes from electing better Democrats to fighting global warming and inequality, etc. Lots of women join those causes and have been known to talk to men about how to get things done. Or on a lighter note, there's also ballroom dancing or making dichroic glass, etc.
Bothering total strangers in public places is not "talking to women," capish?

(8,170 posts)Without real cause - don't do it.
If you want to wolf-whistle at a female stranger ask if you would do so at a male stranger.
If you want to shout "Hello, gorgeous," think if you would shot "Hello, handsome," to the opposite sex.
If you want to approach an unknown woman and say, "Give us a smile," or "You look so serious," ask if you would say the same to an unknown man.

(56,912 posts)the cat call then wouldn't the woman that was attracted to that sort of thing also be Loser .. ?
Why or Why not ?
or maybe they are not Losers just looking for that zipless fuck. More power to the both of them.
I am not judging just saying that is not interesting or intriguing to me but, if we are going to call the man a Loser for making the catcall then I think it is only fair to call the women attracted to it a loser also.

(63,245 posts)I took a dance class when I had just gotten out of a horrible relationship. And I made a deal with myself that I would turn off the world as soon as I stepped through the doors of the dance lesson place.
It saved my sanity and led me to my current girlfriend of 11 years.
The best part is, we immediately had something in common and still enjoy a good lindy hop to this day.
Very cool.

(1,375 posts)Being from the northeast I'm used to a general anti-social attitude towards those you don't know, had to tell my wife to stop smiling and saying hello to people because we were getting weird looks. When I went to her home town (smallish city, but not the sticks) I had to get used to complete strangers coming up to me and starting conversations. It was a learning curve.

Looking at you with interest and giving a smile - maybe - drop an icebreaker and judge the reaction.
It's rude to bother someone who doesn't want to be bothered.

(14,274 posts)And yet there is a copycat thread you know where that is just more proof of their ENTITLEMENT complex. To them it's the epitome of misandry for women not to respond to men in public places.

I am not a man-response-generating-machine.
Seriously... how often do *women* just randomly "hello" or initiate conversation other women out in the world, when compared to the number of men who randomly "hello" at women (etc.)? And How often to men just randomly "hello" or otherwise initiate conversation at other men out in the world?
On my observation, it is far more frequent for strange MEN to try to initiate interaction with strange WOMEN. Because they feel like they have a license to do so. The very definition of entitlement complex.
No. Just no.
