I just have to repost this post from a UFO discussion in GD
The illogic is beautiful.
I posted about the complete lack of photo evidence of aliens, even though half the planet now carry a phone with them everywhere.
I got this reply from another member:

The US Govt has ways of filtering camera shots so that the thing you see, isnt the picture that gets taken. Not a stretch to think that same technology isn't avail to 'them', or that that is where it originated. There ARE many pictures and more everyday. If it was nothing, why did the Navy wait 15 years to show us the 'little blip of light'? To believe we aren't being visited is to ignore huge volumes of reports that say otherwise, and pictures carved in ancient stone. And, paintings from 100s of years ago showing stuff in the sky too.

(4,516 posts)evidence as your statement.
You are making an unsubstantiated claim about why there are no pictures to prove another unsubstantiated claim.
Maybe you can figure out why there is no physical evidence of these beings.

I am not the author of this foolishness.

(7,838 posts)the series starts again this month on the 30th or 31st... I am a believer. Check out "Unacknowledged" a good movie for aliens.

(8,747 posts)People can be TOO skeptical. When the US Navy admits they are encountering UFOs, or UAPs, whatever term you want to use, then something is there.
Not saying they are aliens, but someone, or something, is flying these things. They could be very advanced drones, or autonomous vehicles being flow by our own government or foreign governments.
As for your camera evidence comment, there is the footage from US Navy pilots. Or are you going to dismiss that?
When trained observers, aka airline and military pilots, keep seeing UAPs, then THAT tells me something is there. No matter how skeptics try to explain it away.

(35,197 posts)Unknown terrestrial aircraft isn't beyond possibility.
BTW, turns out pilots aren't great witnesses when it comes to UFOs.

(8,747 posts)Let me repeat it:
I did read that and was confirming what you said.
I meant to omit that first part.

(14,964 posts)14 and I were going to a friends one street over, our youngest was in the cab of our truck and our 14 yr old and I were in the back. At the end of our street, there is a lake, above the lake we saw three glowing orbs and as fast as we noticed them, they were gone. My husband and youngest didn't see a thing.
I posted about the incident on a random UFO sighting board and to my surprise we weren't the only ones who saw them, a man walking his dog on the other side of the lake also saw them and posted on the same board hoping he wasn't the only one to see them. After that, no one will ever convince me UFO's aren't real.

(35,197 posts)it was a craft from another star system?
Yes, people see things they can't explain. Often an explanation is found, sometimes not.
That is the U in UFO.

(14,964 posts)blink of an eye, the second we noticed. They were much lower than an aircraft for the area. It still feels surreal when I think of it.

(35,197 posts)So what is it you now believe?
Nobody has said people don't actual see things they can't identify or misidentify.

(19,996 posts)That's why we have a name for them. They are unidentified. That's all we can say about them.

(26,989 posts)Really? They somehow control every single camera or phone with a camera in this country?
That person should reread that sentence and do some more critical thinking.

(52,491 posts)"The govt and NASA, and all the airlines and camera manufacturers since they were an actual business a hundred plus years ago are all in on it", they always have an answer for everything but their answers are ridiculous. I do believe in ghosts (personal experience) and UFOs (more experience) but a flat earth...no way!

(4,261 posts)Exactly how, I wonder?
BigmanPigman
(52,491 posts)but they always have some answer that makes zero sense. I was told that the airplane windows, camera lenses, etc are all in on the scheme to make us think the earth is flat. I taught first grade and have a great deal of patience but this was my limit.

"There is evidence, because we say so!"

(35,197 posts)The leap from "I saw something unexplained" to "Aliens!" is fascinating and absurd.

(46,955 posts)Yup, there it is, in a nutshell.
Money.
In Roswell there is several "museums," who have dioramas and newspapers on the walls, and of course sell stuff to tourists.
Eric Von Daniken is a convicted Danish embezzler and perjurer, and his books have been shown to be total shit.
Yet the Hysteria Channel (I haven't watched that channel in years now,) has their wack job "Ancient Aliens" show that just regurgitate old debunked stories from the "ancient astronaut" fairy tale spreaders.
I saw one episode that brought up the "Ica Stones," decades after Nova on PBS showed how they are fake.
The flying saucer zealots are using this US Navy announcemnet as some sort of "Holy Writ," and of course...
"Buy my book! Buy my movie! Watch my TV show! Listen to my radio show!"
