I'm hopeful today. How about you?

Have developed a complicated relationship with the Church since trump round one. Not my faith, or my parish, but The Church.

The quick election of a Pope who appears poised to continue the work and message of Pope Francis seems like a really big deal.

So I priest once explain there I a battle in the Catholic Church between the traditionalists and modernists. What the election of Leo XIV tells is the Catholic Church is moving more towards the modernist. I saw a video where Cardinal Prevost supports change in the Church that Pope Francis started.

I think the change will be significant but may not be radical. Also by taking the name Leo it tells many that he plans to make social justice important to his papacy. In the end I believe this is a “win” for the modernists
