Demeter, mother of Persephone and goddess of the harvest, is distraught with grief once again because her daughter is trapped in the Underworld with Hades for this half of the year. When the pair is separated, every thing on the land becomes cold and barren.

Where I am, we only had a few nights of freezing temps and no ice or snow. We haven't had any snow in over a decade and what we did have didn't last more than an few hours.
I know we need the various seasons, but damn it, I want a real winter! I want a cold spell with snow and ice where I can run outside in just my shorts and be one with the cold. Ice gives me strength. My senses get sharper. I feel the desire to let loose. 
I love the cold. If I could, this would be my bedroom all year long:
Now I'm depressed. 
I'm going to go stick my head in the freezer with the TV dinners.
