Notre Dame showing zero class

ND 70
Syracuse 7

You don't embarrass or run up the score on your opponent.
God, I hate Notre Dame!

It's all about getting everyone in the game. Not good optics for ND....but, hey, I didn't watch the game, so I can't say it was intentional running up of the score.

Eight different players scored the ten touchdowns, which is rather remarkable.

Is a little piece of shit too. I love watching his face whenever they get beaten. Smug little prick he is.

I looked at the box score.
Notre Dame played 2 quarterbacks who COMBINED for 15 pass attempts.
They played 13 people at running back or receiver.
The played THIRTY guys on defense.
That's 45 players out of 65 and doesn't count the offensive linemen, punter, kicker, holder or long snapper.
Effectively, they emptied the bench.
And oh, Notre Dame scored 21 points before the offense took their first snap.
A pick 6, a punt return to the house, & another pick 6. 21 to nothing before the ND offense took the field for the first time.
I think the assumptions that Notre Dame did something wrong are misguided.
And, I don't care about Notre Dame. I don't even watch college football.
But, it seems the coach who did badly was the Syracuse coach who didn't have his team prepared.
35 points in the first quarter is on Syracuse, not on Notre Dame.

His call. His substitutions. The players all want a taste and it's the coach that has to strategize restraint.

Making the playoffs is the only goal of these big dollar Division 1 schools. Each post season game is millions of dollars. And status in what passes for "recruiting" in the new college football (all sports) format. I'm not making excuses for ND. I'm a diehard Hurricanes fan and we beat beat ND and have the same record. They think they're blessed by the almighty and deserve special consideration. 🙌

…and I was irritated they ran up the score. If they did.

But I don’t know, and no one has shown, that ND left its starters in the game to the end.

Did ND leave its starters in the game? Or, is Syracuse - second to the last in the ACC - a team that has lost its last SEVEN games, just not that good a team against a team that is NATIONALLY ranked at #9?

Could it be that even with ND putting in the “B Team,” Syracuse was going down? That it was inevitable?

NB: I have no love for ND. My alma mater played them often when I was in college. Still root against them.
