Related: About this forumI'm rootin' for the Detroit Lions to win the Super Bowl.
Love this team and the coaching. They seem to use all 4 downs to move the offense. Well balanced....Goff is throwing as well as any QB I ever watched....and I've had the privilege of watching Tom Brady, every Sunday, for 20 years. Go Lions!

(5,215 posts)I've been a fan since the mid-'80s when my family started attending the Thanksgiving Day game each year. It's time their long-suffering fans were rewarded.

(21,120 posts)Jared Goff written off years ago.
The team has overcome a crazy number of injuries, including rising star Aidan Hutchinson.

(32,429 posts)I so totally despise the Vikings and hope the Lions can beat them then, and go on to win the Super Bowl. (although Ill be rooting for Joe Burrow and Cinncy) and if Detroit goes to the SB??? Ill be rooting for them as we..

(1,920 posts)Last Lions championship was 1957, ten years before the first Zuper bowl. Have only made it to the conference championship game twice, lost late in the game to the 49ers both times.
Not a football fan here, but as a Michigander, it would be nice to see them win it all just once in my lifetime.

(5,215 posts)It was an absolute beatdown. It's too bad they didn't make it to the SB that year because they would have faced the Bills, who were in year number two of their four year SB losing streak.
WestMichRad
(1,920 posts)I had mercifully forgotten that game. There was little doubt from early on that they would be soundly trounced. 41-10 final, oof.

(38,073 posts)I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Rams front office when Goff is being discussed, and why in the Hell they traded him for Stafford.
StocktonNative
(128 posts)Looks like Rams will make the playoffs as they won their division.
I'm sure the Rams are happy Stafford brought LA a Superbowl his first year on the team!
Xavier Breath
(5,215 posts)But it would have been interesting to see what would have happened had they both stayed where they were. Would Goff have gotten the Rams back to the SB at some point? Would Stafford had made it there with Dan Campbell as his HC?

(29,369 posts)Since my Cardinals are eliminated.
The Ravens because of Lamar Jackson and am glad he is proving skeptics wrong.
Commanders because of Jayden Daniels who played for Arizona State before transferring to LSU.
I wouldn't mind the Lions winning it all though.

(6,737 posts)GO COMMANDERS!
My friends in AZ are also on board now that the Cards are out. They were all grads of A.S.U. and they like him a lot. (My hubby was almost a grad from ASU... he is from KY though.. go figure...)
We will have to face Minnesota if both get to that point. I am not going to be popular around here during that game.

(28,845 posts)I mean, give me a break. If you don't appreciate great teams, too sad.
For instance, when Brady got "caught" using underinflated footballs agaisnt the Bears, he kicked the Bears ass with the approved inflated balls in the 2nd half. How to figure?
Jerry2144
(2,647 posts)Dang though. Almost losing to the Broncos and Raiders? Not scoring more than 30 points in any game?

(5,793 posts)With my Forty Niners out of the playoffs this year, I'd love to see Detroit go all the way. I remember how great it felt when the Niners won their first title after sucking for like, forever. Lions fans have waited long enough for a championship team. Let this be their year.

(2,655 posts)But they HAVE to win Sunday night IMO. They haven't had a break since week 5 and if they don't, they won't get any type of bye in the playoffs and will have to win from a wild card spot. Only 10 teams have done that and of those 6 won it all since 1970. TBH I'd love a Bills Lions Super Bowl. The over/under would probably be 80 lol.

(95 posts)Started watching in the 60's, with my dad. Stayed a loyal fan through all the bad years. Watching Lions games the last few years has been good for my soul. If they don't make it to the big game, I'll still be watching every game next year.

I fear all those injuries will be too much to overcome.
They can score points, but they can't stop anybody anymore.

(136 posts)My ideal Super Bowl would be Minnesota vs Buffalo. Both teams went to the big game four times. Both teams lost four times. This matchup would be instant history.
I expect it will be the Lions losing to the Chiefs, with Dan Campbell making a bizarre decision during the game... like going for it on 4th and 5 on his own thirty yard line. He's a crazy man.
OAITW r.2.0
(28,845 posts)HC decisions while a player. Now he gets to prove his idea. If you can win the scrimmage line in 4 plays, you have an advantage.
