Baseball will humble you, Brewers

Sincerely, a Cubs fan.

Now, I doubt the Cubs would’ve fared any better against the Dodgers with such little pitching depth, but what does getting too cocky get you?

I hope the American League wins the World Series, especially the Mariners, but the main thing is the Brewers won’t win, and they won even fewer postseason games than the team they eliminated.

By the way, I don’t remember the Cubs being classless after they eliminated the Padres.

I spent a summer with my daddy watching games, and he was an expert. He taught me the rules, about the players and stats. He won several trophies in baseball in high school.

I thought it was boring (like golf) before that. I'll forever be thankful for that time.

I used to have a signed ball from Willie Stargell that he got signed for me. But my evil ex-husband took it.

But that's okay. No one can steal my sweet memories. ⚾️ ❤️

my late father took me and my younger brother to the very first Angels game against the Cleveland Indians in Memorial Stadium on April 11, 1961, they kicked the crap out of Cleveland by a score of 7-2.
These are memories I cherish.

When "the girl" was going through her tomboy phase, hating dresses, climbing trees and insisting upon wearing Sonic Rush shirts, I insisted on an outing with her to see a game with the Wilmington NC Sharks.* Nothing fancy.

I just wanted her to have the experience of getting her own foul ball and getting it autographed. Plus, she's a mathematics wizard so that part of the game got her interested. Although she insists that statistics isn't "true" math. (My favorite area in mathematics.)

She wasn't a bit shy about it. She loved her granddaddy and he her. So, it was quite a bonding experience for them. Even though in the photo of her with the pitcher signing the ball, she has her back turned, it's one of my favorites because of that generational memory.

Thanks again for your reply, MCE.

Baseball is pretty popular here on DU, IMHO, there is no greater sport than baseball,
it can be tedious at times, but when it gets exciting, it really GETS EXCITING!!
Sorry for the caps, but I am a fanatic baseball fan, my teams are, of course and foremost, the Arizona Diamonds, but, sadly, they sucked this season, in fact, they haven't been very good since they won the WS in 2001, since then, they've been a mediocre team, but I've also been a huge fan of the LA Dodgers and the LA Angels.

My dream World Series match up would be the LA Dodgers vs the LA Angels, that, IMHO, would be a Series for the decade.

One hell of a match up.
I just don't see any team besting the LA Dodgers, especially with Ohtani finding his groove.
GO DODGERS!!!!
