whispered whimpers tease tantalize and echo edges of sound
drift down from a heaven of desire leave pretense of learning
rough rumbles reach ears to realize gently set on silty ground
gain final freedom of a fierce fire aware of the embers burning
knowing the known and unknown actions avarice and advice
holies hide in hot ash a hearth burnt blackened and blocked
stealing the souls of sad stones the altar appears casting dice
fear fertilizes and feeds the farce lethargy loaded and locked
simpered soft supplication of song meander in or out of mind
acknowledge the ages inaccessible accept the anger of angels
the benevolence of demons strong a weakness the weary find
permitting the poor impermissible dazzling dangling dangers
seek sins in sober somber and solace beg for one final breath
savor of the spirit’s savage sacrifice in dank dull dreary death
