the dying light
set alone amidst the dying light alertly awaiting
moving neither forward nor to back motionless
aware of a potential flight cold and calculating
as senses all moving towards being emotionless
left of love and hope and searching for the real
tells show of the secrets a mere blink in an eye
no longer able to cope and time begins to heal
turn and twist heedless trapping the lonely cry
and the first stars appear the diamonds sparkle
confound the night bright of wings in full flutter
dismiss or distain the fear held inside the circle
held on the edge of sight lost inside life’s clutter
thought reaches to touch and measure the face
hands hold clench clutch and treasure the space
