"Blitzed: Drugs in the Third Reich," by Norman Ohler, US 2017.

Fascinating, in-depth look at German development and use of pharmaceuticals, the effect on wide-spread drug use on society and the Nazi high command, in the lead up and during WWII. Methamphetamines were provided to the military, in the form of "Pervitin," use of which played a huge role in Germany's blitzkrieg conquest of France--imagine an army of Terminator-type soldiers who don't need to sleep or eat for days on end, while feeling bright, energetic and confident.

Besides being (what's the clinical term?) evil and nuts, Hitler had a personal physician who became his on-call dealer as the war progressed. When Germany was being defeated, and his drug supplies dried up as Allies and Russians approached the bunker, Hitler was withdrawing, adding to his deterioration.

Can't help thinking about Ketamine in relation to Eloon, its use, side effects, ---and also, what's Trump taking nowadays?
