by forcing open the regular collar's safety latch. I checked him at 3:30 and he was still collared. At 5:30 he was proudly standing next to the bed, comfort collar free. That boy can be a challenge.

Now I need to find a different collar.

Everyone but Arthur snuggled with me. Like I stated in another reply, they were likely distracting me while he perfected his Houdini routine. At 3:30 he as still in the collar. By 5:30 he had escaped. Clever boy.

that relieves his discomfort and, at the same time, tastes unpleasant, so as to discourage him licking himself.

8. My anxiety defeated the Ativan, last night

I'll just keep an eye on him, today and tomorrow. I think it's just a question of him getting used to it. He settled right in to eat.

Hopefully he will spend a lot of time on my lap.

Barring anything unexpected, the procedure sounds pretty minimal. Hopefully he won't have to wear the collar afterwards, or just for a few days.
