Related: About this forumI'm trying to identify this mystery plant-- it's poisonous and that's all I know. Help!!

I live in Northern California, if that's any help.
Also, this plant has little pink flowers (normally)

(24,266 posts)When I realized it was taking over my garden, I decided to get rid of it-- sans gloves. 😞 So before long I had itchy, weeping lesions on my hands and between my fingers.

(24,266 posts)Except the invasive little plant had come back-- it's hard to track it down because it camouflages itself within other plants.
Thank you, all, for your input!!

(24,266 posts)I did come across that while trying to track down the culprit, but I crossed it off my list of possibilities because it said it wasn't toxic to humans. Maybe I'm one of the exceptions.

See https://www.cal-ipc.org/plants/profile/geranium-purpureum-profile/
Seems to be invasive in central CA & Bay Area.
As another poster mentioned, it also looks like Robert's geranium (herb Robert), to which this is related.

(296 posts)I think this is the same shit I would get in my lawn, very hard to kill, and it spreads like wildfire, my house was in Idaho

(29,039 posts)Washington, Oregon, Montana, but not in Idaho but it's right next door so I suppose it could spread to Idaho.

(3,583 posts)It's considered to be a noxious weed in Washington state.
Geranium robertianum, commonly known as herb robert, is generally considered non-toxic to humans.
Major poison control centers and health organizations recognize it as safe for handling and ingestion in small amounts.
The plant can be used in salads and teas, and some people even use it as an insect repellent.
Thus it's not typically considered a source of poisoning.
