Raining, but not too cold. I think soup and cornbread would be good.
The soup I've chosen is mushroom-leek-potato-watercress puree and the recipe is by Mollie Katzen.
Cornbread will be with chopped cheddar cubes, along with roasted hot pepper bits.
Kombucha: cherry-ginger.
Dessert: decaf coffee with almond biscotti.

(1,982 posts)Steam-fried in evoo and veggie broth: chopped onion, orange bell pepper, cut asparagus, sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. When done I added air-fried tofu cubes, cooked red lentil rotini, chopped fresh parsley and a dollop of vegan butter. TJs grated vegan Parmesan on top after plating. Cheers!🥂

(23,388 posts)My son-in-law and grandson picked me up. Today is a birthday. Daughter is a chaperone for the crew event, and is out of town till late tomorrow. So my dear family combined the birthday and Mother's Day. It was so nice!
At this restaurant, they have an all you can eat menu, including drinks, appetizers, sushi, hibachi, kitchen meals (choice of General Tzos, Orange and another chicken with rice) and dessert. You can get anything you want off this menu and pay one price for your meal. We split several appetizers, had sushi rolls, dumplings, General Tzos chicken. Also had various sauces on the side, wasabi and pickled ginger. Everything was freshly made, very tasty and nicely presented. When we were thinking about dessert, I wondered about cake, and mentioned to our server we had a birthday boy. When she brought our ice cream out, there was a lit candle and a little whipped cream for the birthday boy. She asked if we wanted to sing happy birthday, but we said no. She said she didn't like the attention, so I think we were all happy.
It was a very nice meal. I've eaten there once before. The service is great, the food is excellent. I thought I'd overeat, but my choices were just right. I liked sharing the appetizers, got a taste of several things. I had actual raw fish for the first time. Had some seared tuna, and a rainbow roll, which had several kinds of fish, avocado, and celery matchsticks. The wasabi was eye-wateringly hot!
I had vanilla ice cream for dessert. I really enjoyed being invited and sharing the time with the guys
I gave them the marshmallow treats to take home.

(43,446 posts)We had something like that here, but I don't know if they are still in business.
Just checked: they are closed. Here are pics, though--maybe it is like the place you went to.

(23,388 posts)We all noticed the array of plates they used. I'd love to get a tour of their kitchen, bet it was equipped to the max!
