Knocked out some chicken broth yesterday in the Instant Pot. Had to use up the remainder of last years crops. Had 3 carrots, couple onions, some chopped spinach, quarter head of cabbage I used as noodles and a few peas.
Added 2 cans of rinsed Cannellini Beans, celery and the herbs and spices to flavor
salt, pepper, garlic, white pepper, cardamom, ginger, basil, oregano, and thyme.
Looks good!

(10,952 posts)Needed to get dinner done first while my hands are clean. 😂 Getting the tomato bed built today. Been rebuilding the greenhouse lately switching priorities today. Niyad had a great idea to get some sourdough bread.
Enjoyed reading about your eclipse trip. What memories you made, thanks for sharing.

(93,925 posts)That we won't have a hard freeze in two weeks, even though it's going to be warm and thawing this week. It's still April. I have to check on my Walla Walla sweets down at the "other" house today, they are live starts that come out too early every year. The trick is to keep them alive until you can set them in the ground. I have earned a new spot in the yard for the garden, one with better sun conditions. I have to wait until the freezing is over to till it. I get a tilled bed this year too! And it will be fenced off from the varmints, big and small, from the start.
Have fun in the dirt!

(120,955 posts)community beds ready for this season's adventure, and we are getting anxious. It snowed here three of the last four days (hey, it snows in May here), so we can't get an early start. But it will be fun.

(10,952 posts)Some of the biggest spring snows I remember happened in late April and May. What can ya do?

(120,955 posts)course, it was 72 the day before it snowed here on Thursday.
I tell newcomers, we do not have summer and winter wardrobes here, we have morning, afternoon, and evening wardrobes. .LAYERS!!! Newcomers do not believe when I tell them that I have seen snow in every month of the year. . not all in the same year, but it has snowed in June, July, and August. We shrub, cover our plants, and get on with our day!
