I can't tolerate any raw onion. Pickled is sometimes okay. Now, cook them in any fashion and I love them!
I can eat a few of the green tops of a scallion sparingly. I know they aren't onions.

I use shallots in cooking when I want a milder taste and red when I want a tangier taste. Yellow is the go-to for cooked dishes. My husband likes red onions raw in salad and on burgers, but I'm not a raw onion fan.
