(2,691 posts)I'm half afraid to read it now. My partner said the movie was like a Hitchcockian spaghetti western directed by Kubrick. But she's full blown twisted. Regardless, very well done, right up my ally.

(10,492 posts)until the very end, or even why it was called the Power of the Dog. It was an anti-western, turning around western conventions of masculinity. It deconstructed themes that are current today and would be relevant to any western but are never explored. I don't know how different that was to the book, but the storytelling on film was genius.
