If she had the type that I had I can see how she declined so rapidly. I had it for 3 weeks but it wasn't properly diagnosed and I was told to keep going to work/school (1st grade). Even my 6 year old students were worried about my appearance and change in behavior.

Eventually I was grey, and extremely weak. I collapsed in the parking structure of the hospital since 1/3 of my blood was destroyed internally. They didn't have any blood available and they had to "make it". Type B packed red blood cells in 3 transfusions saved my life. Kaiser sucks!!!!! They kept telling me to go to work, I only had a cold!!!

If this is the type of pneumonia Diane had I can see why she had to be airlifted to a hospital. It gets super serious very quickly.

I wish more people were aware of this and would be asking their doctors for real answers to their symptoms ASAP!

My dear friend passed away from Covid Pneumonia. He was already compromised from declining Multiple Myeloma. He had virtually no white cells in his blood to fight the infection.

2. Yes, there are risk factors

such as aging, a compromised immune system, underlying illnesses (she did have skin cancer and took it seriously), etc.

A lot of aging celebrities died of Covid related Pneumonia. I keep reading and continue to discover the cause of death of some of my favorite film and TV shows actors. Cloris Leachman is an example.

4. They tried to treat it with steroids

but that actually made me feel worse. To this day my doctors ask if I am allergic to anything and I answer "probably the steroid Prednisone". I looked like the walking dead.

The steroids were given to me before I ended up collapsing. That's what pisses me off a lot. Kaiser doctors are incompetent and their pharmacies and hospitals are awful!!!

When I was getting my transfusions a priest came into my hospital room to administer "last rights" to me. He mistakenly thought I was the 94 year old "Martha" who was in the bed next to me who was dying. It was a nightmare. My mother was also a nightmare since she knows everything and she told my doctor I was so anemic due to the fact that I don't eat red meat and the remedy was to simply eat lots of liver. The doctor and I rolled our eyes at each other.

I ask because my husband had two stem cell transplants and later on organizing pneumonia. He was on anti-everything ...antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals ... they throw everything at you.

10. When I was LEAVING the hospital

the nurses gave me a "new vaccine" to fight pneumonia but the problem is that there are 2 types of pneumonia, viral and bacterial, and the vax only takes care of one of them.

It was sort of like locking the barn door after the horses got out.
