Related: About this forumMarriage licence from 1915
I was looking at a marriage licence from 1915 and noted the questioning was different for the man and the woman.
Is the female contracting party afflicted with epilepsy, tuberculosis, venereal, or any other contagious or transmissable disease?
Is he an imbecile, feeble-minded, idiotic or insane, or is he under guardianship as a person of unsound mind?
I wondered why they have different questions for each. They don't ask about venereal disease for the man or whether the woman is of sound mind.

Men were virtuous, and women were the root of all evil. Remember Adam and Eve?
