Colorado Court Rules against Baker Who Refused to Make Gender Transition Cake

A Colorado court ruled against Masterpiece Cakeshop baker Jack Phillips, after he was sued for refusing to make a cake to celebrate a gender transition.
Autumn Scardina, an attorney, sued Phillips earlier this year for refusing to bake the cake in honor of Scardinas transition. The cake was ordered on the same day in 2017 that the Supreme Court announced it would take up a separate suit against Phillips, who refused in 2012 to make a custom cake to celebrate a same-sex wedding.
Anti-discrimination laws are intended to ensure that members of our society who have historically been treated unfairly, who have been deprived of even the every-day right to access businesses to buy products, are no longer treated as others,' the Denver District Court wrote in its ruling on Tuesday.

I don't see the point of standing in line to hand money to someone who hates my guts. NT

Pretty much my thought. If there were any chance that person's heart would change, yes, but...

What if people of color had settled for just staying only in hotels or attending only schools where they were sure of a welcome? How would civil rights have advanced?
