Is liking Pina Colada means one is gay?

Just curious. I finished a book where there are two characters working together, a man and a woman. They are clearly devoted to each other know each other thoughts. And yes, after a disaster they spend a night in one room, nothing sexual. Just comforting each other.

But maybe? The reader wonders.

There was a disaster and they had to move to a hotel in the town.

The woman, the narrator is retiring early after a major injury.

But then a brisk rap-rap and her male friend is at the door.

"Do you want to come in?" I ask.

Slightly to my surprise, he shakes his head.

"Nah. I'm... well, I'm actually gonna go out. For a drink."

"With who?" I'm surprised. I'm even more surprised when he blushes.

"Eric. Landlady's son. He runs the bar up the road, said... you know. 'Come in for a drink after supper.'"

I can't stop the smile spreading across my face. "That's awesome. Is he...?

He replies: "If you mean, does he like pina coladas, sources say yes."

She replies: "Ha. Well. Go you."

I am a senior citizen, do not go out much do not watch the popular TV shows and have never heard of this reference.. Sounds sweet, though.

The assistant band director chose the song and his taste in music was suspect.
