Backfired: Has Iran Learned the Power of Closing Hormuz? - William Spaniel



A common narrative from the last few days is that Iran has "learned" about the power of closing the Strait of Hormuz, and the government will leverage the threat to close it under more circumstances now. Today examines the accuracy of that claim. We specifically look at whether there was anything for Iran to "learn" or if the incident has just raised awareness among those who do not follow international conflict. We also examine how the reaction to Iran initiating a crisis would provoke a very different international response.
