Major political reform approved in Kazakhstan - Eastern Express - TVP WORLD

Kazakhstan has approved sweeping constitutional reforms in a nationwide referendum, with exit polls showing around 87% support.

The new constitution rewrites roughly 84% of the country’s basic law and restructures key government institutions. Among the biggest changes are a new unicameral parliament, the restoration of a vice presidency, and the creation of new advisory bodies. Supporters say the reforms modernize Kazakhstan’s political system, while critics question how they will affect the balance of power.

In this episode of Eastern Express, we examine what the reforms mean – and what they reveal about Kazakhstan’s political future.
