Almost two months passed since North Koreans joined the fight against Ukrainians alongside Russians. This was their mirage of escape. But they couldn't have imagined to end up in even worse conditions than before. One of the biggest barriers is the language. Another problem is unpreparedness and absence of real life training. So the soldiers ended up being just dressed up cannon fodder. Is Kim furious with Putin? There is a good chance.

'Sorry Kim', says Putin. Putin turns away and smiles.

(15,692 posts)at least he got enough information and supplies to make a nuclear bomb, but caring about the NK soldiers ain't his thing. He's more embarrassed.

(3,740 posts)The fact that 1,000s die in the process is just the price of doing business. Every serious military in the world in one way or the other is taking advantage of the war in Ukraine to see what works, what doesn't and what better tactics for a world of drones, robots and incredibly precision munitions will be. The Korean situation is somewhat unique, not about Ukraine, but about the actual situation on the ground in Korea. The fact is that even a conventional conflict on the peninsula will lead to mass civilian casualties possibly far exceeding military casualties. The location of Seoul within easy range of even the most conventional artillery, of which NK has huge amounts, means it is hostage and Target One if things turn bad. Seoul is one of the world's "Megacities" of which there are only 34 with a population of nearly 10 million souls. That is a lot of hostages.
