Saudi Arabia is ramping up its green hydrogen ambitions with a massive new facility planned in Yanbu. The Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub, developed by ACWA Power in partnership with Germanys EnBW, is expected to be nearly twice the size of the ongoing 2.2 gigawatt Neom project.
This new site will include 4 gigawatts (GW) of electrolysis capacity and could produce up to 400,000 tons of green hydrogen per year. That hydrogen will be processed into green ammonia for global export...
...Commissioned by ACWA Power, the contract marks the start of detailed planning for what could become one of the worlds largest green hydrogen plants.
The FEED phase will last 10 months, after which the partners are expected to present an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) proposal worth several billion euros.
Facility to include desalination and export infrastructure...more

NEOM is an arcology and planned city being built by Saudi Arabia in Tabuk Province. Launched in 2017 by crown prince Mohammad bin Salman, the site is at the northern tip of the Red Sea, due east of Egypt across the Gulf of Aqaba and south of Jordan. The total planned area of Neom is 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi). Multiple regions are planned, including a floating industrial complex, global trade hub, tourist resorts, and a linear city powered by renewable energy sources.

But wait, I've been told that there is no "green" hydrogen?
Yup you were told that!

Hydrogen isn't "green." Rather it's a thermodynamic nightmare making things worse faster. All the scummy slick ads in the world will not change that fact.
