Investing in America: Western Winds of Change spotlights Carbon County, Wyoming, a historic coal community that is building one of the largest wind farms and transmission systems in the United States. These two projects will create over 1,500 jobs for union workers.
In June 2023, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland visited Carbon County to celebrate the groundbreaking of the TransWest Express Transmission Project, which will carry clean energy from new wind projects across the American West.
Since taking office, President Biden and Vice President Harris have created more than 16 million jobs. Hundreds of thousands of those are in clean energy. From heavy equipment operators to autoworkers to pipe fitters to linemen, hard-working Americans are powering this country and supporting their families with good-paying, quality jobs. - 01/03/2025.

...but the U.S. is so far behind the progress the rest of the world is making in the new energy economy, I'm afraid a lot of areas, whole towns like this one, will die from our lack of willingness to compete in the transition away from fossil fuels.

The only thing we've got going for us is that he never keeps his "promises..."

One of my sisters has lived in Rawlins for nearly forty years. Her husband is a geologist who managed an uranium mine until he retired. While they lean Republican they aren't members of the MAGA cult and on occasion are capable of compassion and understanding so there is always hope.
