A tentative contract agreement has been reached between the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel and UNITE HERE Local 274, ending a nine-day strike among workers at the hotel.
The strike began June 21, 2026, when unionized hotel employees walked off the job in a dispute over wages and benefits.
Under the tentative agreement, non-tipped employees' wages will increase to $30 an hour by 2028, bringing the Sheraton in line with Philadelphia's citywide hotel wage standard.
In addition, the agreement includes a reduction in the daily room quota to 15 rooms for room attendants, an 18% banquet gratuity, major increases in pension, and improved access to dependent health coverage.
