The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation into a workplace fatality at the Tyson Foods plant in Dakota City, Nebraska, federal authorities confirmed Wednesday.

The incident happened in the warehouse material handling area of the facility Monday, according to a U.S. Department of Labor regional director for public affairs and media relations.

OSHA has six months to complete its investigation, and no further information is available until the work is finished.

Tyson's Dakota City beef plant is metro Sioux City's largest employer with more than 4,500 workers.
