RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb 23 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump's Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT.O), opens new tab and video-sharing platform Rumble (RUM.O), opens new tab filed an emergency motion in a U.S. court against Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, the firms said in a statement on Sunday.
On Friday, the Justice ordered the suspension of the video platform in the South American country until it complies with court orders, after the firms sued Moraes in the U.S. District Court in Tampa over accusations of illegal censorship.
The motion seeks to stop orders issued by the judge, as they said Moraes' rulings "violate American sovereignty, the U.S. Constitution, and U.S. laws."
In the statement, the firms said that Moraes threatened criminal charges against Rumble's CEO, Chris Pavlovski.
Moraes, who also led the country's tussle with Elon Musk's X, ordered the suspension of service for Rumble until the firm names a legal representative for Brazil, as law requires foreign companies to have one to operate locally.

SAO PAULO (AP) A Brazilian Supreme Court justice on Friday ordered the suspension of video-sharing platform Rumble in the South American nation for allegedly refusing to comply with court orders.
Justice Alexandre de Moraes on Thursday had given Rumble 48 hours to name a legal representative in Brazil, but he received no answer so far.
Moraes said Rumble has repeatedly, consciously and willingly not complied, and is trying not to submit to Brazils legal order and judiciary.
He added that one of the decisions that Rumble has ignored is to remove the account of Allan dos Santos, a fugitive of Brazilian law, a resident in the United States since 2020 and a staunch supporter of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
Theres no evidence of the regularity of Rumble Incs representation in Brazilian territory, de Moraes said in his ruling.

The media company of U.S. President Donald Trump and the video platform Rumble have filed a joint lawsuit in a U.S. federal court against Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
The platforms claim that Moraes recent orders directing Rumble to shut down the account of Bolsonaro-aligned influencer Allan dos Santos and provide his user data violate U.S. sovereignty and the American Constitution.
Moraes orders were issued in secrecy and prohibit Rumble from disclosing their contents. The document, addressed to multiple platforms, gave a two-hour deadline to comply with the demands, under threat of substantial daily fines.
Rumble left Brazil in December 2023 due to what it described as "unjust censorship orders" requiring the platform to ban content creators and public figures, including members of Congress.

Bolsonaro has enlisted the Orange Disease in battling Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, whom he has despised for years for blocking some vicious, evil moves he has made against Lula da Silva, try to destroy Lula, repeatedly. Now it appears Bolsonaro thinks he can bring Hump and Leon both against him. Let us hope the Justice will be able to get enough protection against assassination, which clearly could be their next scheme.
