WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department sent armed U.S. Marshals to deliver a letter warning a fired career pardon attorney about testifying to Congress, calling them off only when she acknowledged having received the letter by email, her lawyer said in a letter seen by Reuters on Monday.
This highly unusual step of directing armed law enforcement officers to the home of a former Department of Justice employee who has engaged in no misconduct, let alone criminal conduct, simply to deliver a letter, is both unprecedented and completely inappropriate, wrote attorney Michael Bromwich, who represents the fired attorney, in a letter to the Justice Department.
The fired attorney, Liz Oyer, is due to testify to Congress later on Monday.

THIS is the absolute worst news I may have ever heard as far as this country goes
Many pardons if Im overreacting 🙏

(6,440 posts)Combined with all the other b.s. Trump is throwing out there, including:
1. White House looking into possibility of sending U.S. citizens to El Salvador prisons.
2. The Supreme Court putting a stay on lower court's ruling re: the return of the legal immigrant sent to El Salvador.
3. The continued shake-down of law firms.
4. The continued erasure of black and female history from govt. sites.
5. The apparent intentional destruction or weakening of govt. agencies.
and so on ad nauseam.
