How much does it cost to get an ad free subscription to Democratic Underground. I have already paid $50.00 and the Amazon videos keep coming

I hate it when I use my PC at work via Edge, It slows me down with all the distractions. Work PC is locked down now. Last year I used FF but can't install it anymore.

(39,148 posts)My home machines run Linux.
I've been on the internet since the late 'seventies. (I'm deliberately vague about that for privacy reasons.) The first real operating system I regularly used was BSD.
I started using Windows 3.1 because it was the most convenient way for me to run the Mosaic browser. (Been in the same room as Marc Andreessen a few times along the way.) I quit Windows at 98SE, just a couple of days after the Opera browser for Linux was released.
But what's that got to do with login problems on DU?
Go ahead and sneer if you like, I'm writing this on a $100 Chromebook. The most I've ever paid for a computer was $300 for a shop-worn 386.
Most of my computers are diverted from the e-waste bins. I put in a new hard drive, max out the memory, install Linux, copy over my home directory, and I'm good to go. It makes me happy and I don't have to pirate anything.

(39,148 posts)I have no idea what you use your computers for. Apparently a lot of your favorite software tools and computer entertainments are limited to Windows machines.
This thread has careened so far off topic I'll leave it there.
