How come MD-4CD US Representative Glenn Ivey is not mentioned as a potential US Senate candidate?
I know that Glenn Ivey was just elected to his US House Seat. However MD has elected a one term US House Member to the US Senate. 1970(J Glenn Beall). Glenn Ivey has worked in the US Senate as a counsel to Paul Sarbanes, Chair of the MD Public Seevice Commission, and Prince Georges State Attorney. Glen Ivey is a black male from Prince Georges County like Wes Moore and Anthony Brown. Wes Moore and Anthony Brown were both recently elected to statewide office in MD. MD-4 is the safest Democratic US House District in MD.
Another black male from the DC Suburbs(At Large MD County Councilor Will Jawando) is mentioned as a potential US Senate candidate. Jawando is also the author of the book(My Seven Black Fathers.) Wes Moore is also an author. Jawando will be the front runner for the MD-8CD US House seat if Jamie Raskin decides not to seek re-election in order to run for the US Senate.
Angela Alsobrooks- the current Prince Georges County Executive is considered a frontrunner for the 2024 MD US Senate seat to succeed Ben Cardin if Cardin retires. Alsobrooks is a black female who is a single mother of a teenage daughter. Alsobrooks is responsible for helping Wes Moore become Governor and Brooke Lierman become Comptroller. Alsobrooks could get endorsements from Chris Van Hollen,Wes Moore,Aruna Miller,Anthony Brown, and Brooke Lierman.
I will be going to be paying attention to Will Jawando if he formally announces his candidacy. Young charismatic black male from Montgomery County MD. Jawando is a child of a Nigerian father and a White Kansan mother. He worked for Nancy Pelosi,Sherrod Brown and Barack Obama. Jawando is most likely going to run a grassroots campaign.
