CO US House Members likely to run for and get elected to statewide office in the near future.

Joe Neguse(D-CO2) and Jason Crow(D-CO6).

Neguse ran for statewide office(Secretary of State) in 2014(a Republican wave election year) and lost by a 2.5 percent margin. In 2014, Republicans won every statewide election in except for Governor. Hickenlooper won the 2014 CO Governor’s Election by a 4.5 percent margin.
Neguse got elected to the US House of Representatives from CO-2 in 2018 by a 27 percent margin when CO-2 was a +9D district. In 2020, Neguse won re-election by a 26 percent margin and in 2022, Neguse won re-election by a 42 percent margin. CO-2 is now a +17D district. During the last Congressional session, Neguse introduced the most bills. Two US House members introduced more bills than Neguse. (Eleanor Holmes Norton-DC who does not have voting power in Congress like the other 50 states and Carolyn Maloney-NY who is no longer in Congress.)

Crow ran for the US House of Representatives from CO-6 in 2018 by a 11 percent margin. Crow unseated a Republican incumbent Mike Coffman. CO-6 was a +2D district before the 2022 Redistricting. Crow won redistricting in 2020 by a 17 percent margin. CO-6 is now a +9D district. Crow won re-election in 2022 by a 23 percent margin.

Neguse has more political experience than Crow,Pettersen, and Caraveo.

Neguse served in the Board of Regents in the University of Colorado in CO-2 from 2009-2015.
Neguse served as Executive Director of the CO Department of Regulatory Agencies from 2015-2017.
Neguse has been a member of the US House of Representatives since 2019.
Pettersen served in the CO state House of Representatives from 2013-2019,CO state senate from 2019-2023,and US House of Representatives in CO-7 since 2023.
Crow has been a member of the US House of Representatives since 2019.
Caraveo served in the CO state House of Representatives from 2019-2023 and US House of Representatives in CO-8 since 2023.

Neguse’s resume kind of replicates Polis’s resume.
Polis served in the CO state board of education-at large from 2001-2007, US House of Representatives in CO-2 from 2009-2019. Governor from 2019-2027.
Neguse served in the University of CO Board of Regents in CO-2 from 2009-2015, US House of Representatives in CO-2 from 2019-2027. 2026 Neguse either runs for and gets elected Governor or US Senator.
