Britain is ready to leave EU next month without a deal - Leadsom
LONDON (Reuters) - Britains government is ready to leave the European Union without a divorce deal unless parliament votes for Prime Minister Theresa Mays Brexit plan, the governments leader in the House of Commons, Andrea Leadsom, said.
Essentially that is what will happen unless we dont vote for a deal. The legal position is that we leave without a deal, Leadsom told BBC radio on Friday.
People say extend, oh well, extend Article 50, but I have had two public meetings in my constituency in the last few weeks and people, whether they voted remain or leave, the overwhelming view is they say just get on with it.
May suffered a latest defeat on her Brexit strategy on Thursday, undermining her pledge to EU leaders to get her divorce deal approved if they grant her concessions.

(16,881 posts)1. Get on with it and hold a second referendum:
May's deal or Remain, now the terms are more clear, with No Deal out of the question.

...suggests the exact opposite of what Andrea Leadsom is saying. And Andrea Leadsom's inability to manage the Commons to get a deal passed is a big part of that. Businesses can't prepare if parliament isn't getting anything done to allow us to prepare.

I have taken to calling May 'Ethelred' because she's so unready. I was informed that this was a bad translation from Anglo-Saxon, and that it should have been 'ill-advised'. Well, she's that too.
And speaking of Anglo-Saxon, I have plenty of Anglo-Saxon words for Leadsom!
