We used to call driving north into Wisconsin "crossing the cheddar curtain". Illinoisans called Wisconsinites "Cheese Heads" and they called us "g**d**n FIBS".

Back when we only had cell phones, not smart phones, I was driving north to the border with the UP Michigan and got separated on the road from another car in our group. The driver called and said he thought he took a wrong turn so I pulled over and asked him where he was and he said he was standing next to a sign that said "Cheese".
